Izmit Bay Bridge

In Gebze-Orhangazi-İzmir (Izmit Bay Transition and Connection Roads Included) Highway’s Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) Model Construction, Operation and Transfer scope, South Approach Viaduct’s Heavy Lifting Modules’ Assembly and Welding Works, were completed on time and with expected quality level, with engineering services and full machinery between September-July 2015.

The connection; 130 meters in length, 36 meters in width, 2 modules with each 2350 tons and 2650 tons in weight.

After the assembly and welding of the modules on the ground, it was lifted with Heavy Lifting technique each as one block, and assembled at 65meters height with highest precision.

It broke the Turkey’s records, as the heaviest lifted structure in one piece as 2650 tons and 2350 tons.

After an intensive period of 10 months of work, M29 and M31 modules were finished with success.
